A ramp for Lucie: volunteers and tools needed
Help Lucie regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇨🇦 Ontario, Canada189 views
Lucie has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Lucie can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Lucie's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Sending strength, Valentin. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
You're not alone, Valentin. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Put this on a community board in Kasarani this morning
shared this with my family. Take care
