A ramp for Kelechi: volunteers and tools needed

Kelechi uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Kelechi has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kelechi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kelechi's family will cook lunch for the team. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to The Hague so I could bring a meal. God bless.
