A ramp for Jorge: volunteers and tools needed

Help Jorge regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Jorge has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Jorge can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Jorge's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

  • This could happen to any of us. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Mumbai.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Manuela. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.

Sending strength, Manuela. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care.
