A ramp for Joaquim: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Juazeiro do Norte.
🇧🇷 Ceará, Brazil299 views
Joaquim has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Joaquim can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Joaquim's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

So sorry you're going through this. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 15 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
