A ramp for Isla: volunteers and tools needed
Help Isla regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇦🇺 New South Wales, Australia164 views
Isla has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Isla can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Isla's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Dar es Salaam.
hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Bacolod donated after I showed her your page. Take care
rooting for you, Teresa. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Good luck. Wishing Isla a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
