A ramp for Arjun: volunteers and tools needed
Arjun uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 Augusta, Georgia, United States761 views
Arjun has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Arjun can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Arjun's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. After 26 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Hope things get better soon, Rakesh. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Kingston donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Augusta.
