A rainwater harvesting system for Union Primary School: help our neighbors in Sandton
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $850 for materials.
Anywhere in the world527 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 297 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $850 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Materials: $690
• Safety equipment and signage: $100
Thanks for being kind about this.

How is Nalini doing now?
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best!
Sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Tokyo.
