A rainwater harvesting system for the Unity vacant lot: help our neighbors in Fort Portal
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $500 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 430 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $20
With deep gratitude,
Omondi

Thank you all. We're at 13% now ($64). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery.

Good luck, Omondi. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Kediri donated after I showed her your page.
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in San Cristóbal de las Casas but we're thinking of you. Love from San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Thinking of you and your family. Great idea, hope you get there. Put this on a community board in Messina this morning. Blessings.
