A rainwater harvesting system for the old Maple bus depot: help our neighbors in Nagpur
Volunteers in Nagpur are raising $350 for a rainwater harvesting system at the old Maple bus depot.
Anywhere in the world920 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 578 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $150
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
Thanks for being kind about this.
