A rainwater harvesting system for the old Lotus bus depot: help our neighbors in Arlington
Volunteers in Arlington are raising $3,450 for a rainwater harvesting system at the old Lotus bus depot.
🇺🇸 United States3,433 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,450.
It will serve about 431 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Materials: $2,850
• Safety equipment and signage: $390
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
Thank you so much.

Best of luck, Kathleen. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier!
Praying for you, Kathleen. Shared it with a few friends. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out
