Zaria
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 300 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Materials: $570 Every share and every dollar helps. - Paul
