A rainwater harvesting system for the Cedar vacant lot: help our neighbors in Asaba
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Cedar vacant lot that will serve 567 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Nigeria499 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 567 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
Every share and every dollar helps.
