A rainwater harvesting system for the Cedar vacant lot: help our neighbors in Hubballi
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Cedar vacant lot that will serve 355 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Karnataka, India811 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 355 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $420
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $25
Thank you so much.
