A rainwater harvesting system for the Baobab community hall: help our neighbors in Bogotá
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $950 for materials.
🇨🇴 Bogotá, Bogotá D.C., Colombia165 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 270 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $950 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $110
• Materials: $710
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending love. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. All the best!
Thinking of you. Looking forward to the next update. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Bogotá.
