A rainwater harvesting system for Sycamore Primary School: help our neighbors in Latina
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $700 for materials.
Anywhere in the world1,236 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 462 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $330
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

wishing you the best. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Latina.
stay strong, Roberto. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. All the best.
Take care, Roberto. This could happen to any of us!
