For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 219 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $350 • Permits and inspections: $85 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $90 Thanks for reading all this. - Hendrik

Updates from Hendrik

  1. Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($35). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. - Hendrik

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($10 in total) the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
