A rainwater harvesting system for Freedom Primary School: help our neighbors in George
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $450 for materials.
🇿🇦 South Africa1,011 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 417 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Materials: $345
Every share and every dollar helps.

Thinking of you, Brett. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Brett. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in Kasarani but we're thinking of you. All the best.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't give up. Love from Thika.
take care, Brett. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Take care.
Keep going, Brett. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 15 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
looking forward to the next update. After 7 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of George.
Thinking of you and your family, Brett. This could happen to any of us. God bless
Rooting for you, Brett. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
