A rainwater harvesting system for Baobab Primary School: help our neighbors in Bandung
Volunteers in Bandung are raising $300 for a rainwater harvesting system at Baobab Primary School.
🇮🇩 West Java, Indonesia770 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 546 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Permits and inspections: $25
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
