A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Üsküdar
Volunteers in Üsküdar are raising $450 for a rainwater harvesting system at the Lotus community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 571 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $95
• Materials: $315
I hope life is good to you.
