A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Tampa
Volunteers in Tampa are raising $2,300 for a rainwater harvesting system at Cedar Park.
🇺🇸 Florida, United States465 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 213 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Materials: $1,300
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $465
With deep gratitude,
Matthew
