Greensboro
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,800. It will serve about 244 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,800 goes: • Materials: $1,100 • Permits and inspections: $220 • Safety equipment and signage: $210 • Tools hire and delivery: $270 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Jamila
