A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Essen
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $3,200 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 98 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Materials: $2,550
• Permits and inspections: $240
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
