A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Epe
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $350 for materials.
Anywhere in the world642 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $190, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 554 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
