A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Bogor
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Acacia Primary School that will serve 300 neighbors.
🇮🇩 Bogor, West Java, Indonesia1,035 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 300 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $280
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
Thanks for being kind about this.
