A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Atlanta
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Unity Park that will serve 359 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 359 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $260
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $540
