I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Rotterdam Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,900.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $2,450
• Fitting and training sessions: $125
• Delivery and set-up: $95
• First-year servicing plan: $230
