Tevita lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Wellington General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,850.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Tevita could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,850 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $7,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $195
• Delivery and set-up: $155

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tevita.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. prosthetic leg comes first ($7,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
