Rani lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Bandung Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Rani could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $600 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $490
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $50
