I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Ottawa Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,000.
My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,000 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $110
• Fitting and training sessions: $410
• prosthetic leg: $6,480

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. delivery and set-up comes first ($110) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
