A prosthetic leg for Deepak: help Deepak move freely
Deepak needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $6,150.
Anywhere in the world6,126 views
Deepak lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Coventry Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,150.
His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Deepak could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,150 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $170
• prosthetic leg: $5,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $230
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
