I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at Hyderabad General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $500 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $410
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• First-year servicing plan: $40
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
