A prosthetic leg for Adhiambo: help Adhiambo move freely

A prosthetic leg would give Adhiambo independence - we're $700 away.

Embakasi
Adhiambo lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Embakasi General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Adhiambo could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $700 goes: • prosthetic leg: $610 • Fitting and training sessions: $30 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $50 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Esther

Updates from Esther

  1. Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($117). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward delivery and set-up.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($117 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
