I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Petrópolis Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,350.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,350 goes:

• Fitting and training sessions: $90
• Delivery and set-up: $50
• First-year servicing plan: $110
