Mega lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at the Jakarta Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $900.
Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Mega could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $900 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $800
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $75
