A powered wheelchair for Léa: help Léa move freely
Léa needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $6,800.
🇫🇷 France94 views
Léa lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Metz Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,800.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Léa could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,800 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $6,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $300
• Delivery and set-up: $125
• First-year servicing plan: $125
Glad we found this place.
