A powered wheelchair for Lakshmi: help me move freely
Lakshmi needs a powered wheelchair that the health system will not fund; the cost is $1,050.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Durgapur Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,050.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• powered wheelchair: $1,000
• First-year servicing plan: $30
I hope life is good to you.
