A powered wheelchair for Elaine: help me move freely
A powered wheelchair would give Elaine independence - we're $1,300 away.
Anywhere in the world620 views
I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Guarulhos Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,300.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $1,100
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $100
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
