Derek lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at Liverpool General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,650.
His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Derek could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.

• Fitting and training sessions: $180
• Delivery and set-up: $110
• First-year servicing plan: $310
