A playground for Union Primary School: help our neighbors in Oakland
A community-led a playground at Union Primary School that will serve 598 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,850.
It will serve about 598 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Materials: $2,850
• Permits and inspections: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $280
• Tools hire and delivery: $460
