A playground for the Pioneer vacant lot: help our neighbors in Ho
Volunteers in Ho are raising $300 for a playground at the Pioneer vacant lot.
🇬🇭 Ghana574 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 221 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Materials: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $45

Updates from Kofi
Thank you all. We're at 41% now ($123). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
Update from Ho: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 8% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
