For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,050. It will serve about 302 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,050 goes: • Materials: $1,550 • Permits and inspections: $100 • Safety equipment and signage: $280 • Tools hire and delivery: $120 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
