For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,050. It will serve about 486 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,050 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $460 • Materials: $1,350 • Permits and inspections: $240 Thank you so much.
