A playground for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Athens
Volunteers in Athens are raising $1,250 for a playground at the Lotus community hall.
🇬🇷 Athens, Attica, Greece1,078 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,250.
It will serve about 147 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Materials: $980
• Permits and inspections: $180
• Tools hire and delivery: $90
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hope this works out for you. After 24 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Athens!
Take care, Olga. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Wish I lived closer to New Delhi so I could bring a meal.
Stay strong, Olga. Hope this works out for you.
Rooting for you, Olga. More neighborhoods should do this. God bless.
Rooting for you. Great idea, hope you get there. Love from San Antonio.
