A playground for the Harmony health centre yard: help our neighbors in Rochester
Volunteers in Rochester are raising $1,900 for a playground at the Harmony health centre yard.
Anywhere in the world1,405 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,900.
It will serve about 216 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $105
• Tools hire and delivery: $180
• Materials: $1,615
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Hope it all works out, Ezekiel. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Wish I lived closer to Ahmedabad so I could bring a meal. All the best.
Rooting for you, Ezekiel. Great idea, hope you get there. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
