A playground for Sycamore Primary School: help our neighbors in Savar
Volunteers in Savar are raising $500 for a playground at Sycamore Primary School.
Anywhere in the world407 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 106 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $370
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
Thank you for reading my story.
