A playground for Lotus Primary School: help our neighbors in Dehiwala

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $85, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 122 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $260 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $90 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
