For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,800. It will serve about 507 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,800 goes: • Materials: $1,300 • Permits and inspections: $85 • Safety equipment and signage: $200 • Tools hire and delivery: $215 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Nanami?

    • You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
