A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Thủ Đức

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 362 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $490 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
