A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Savar

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 349 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $25 • Materials: $290 • Permits and inspections: $35 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
