A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Nuremberg

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,250. It will serve about 452 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,250 goes: • Materials: $1,200 • Permits and inspections: $240 • Safety equipment and signage: $350 • Tools hire and delivery: $460 Thanks for being kind about this.
